Florida Close-up/Parlor Conference & Competition
Update – October 1, 2016
Welcome fellow fans of magic!
Next year’s FCCC (Florida Close-up/Parlor Conference & Competition) is shaping up. Take a look at the line-up so far and I think you will agree we are in for a good time. And more Stars of Magic to come. As at all conventions…some names you will know and some you might not be all that familiar with but we guarantee all of our presenters are tops in their field. And for $125 per person to register you just can’t beat it.
As we try to encourage the youth to get interested in our art, all kids under the age of twelve receive free FCCC registration (one per paid parent).
$2500 in cash prizes will be awarded to the top six contestants but each of them will also receive a beautiful trophy. Registration deadline for the contest is April 1 so don’t delay if you want to get your name out there and into the magic community and be seen. If you wish to enter the competition, contact Contest chair Greg Solomon at email@example.com.
The host hotel, the Sheraton Orlando North (Maitland) has a special rate for us for only $94. AND free parking AND no resort fee. That’s $14 less, per night, than last year! But don’t delay because last year we sold out of (300) rooms and next year they are only giving us 200 rooms at that price! Don’t say we didn’t warn you. Call the hotel at (844-236-6115) and make your reservation today!
Our Awards banquet is still only $33pp and the show will be immediately following the banquet. But if you want to purchase extra tickets for those not attending the conference, show-only tickets for either Saturday or Sunday night are only $20pp.
One of the highlights of the FCCC will be a forum by some who have appeared on Penn & Teller’s Fool-Us. And all the shows and lectures will be projected on a large screen for better viewing.
This will not be as large a convention as last years Magicpalooza since it is a “Close-Up/Parlor” conference…but a Florida first! And for the first fifty who register, you will receive a free FCCC souvenir poster (you can have all the performers autograph it at the Welcome Get-Together that Friday evening). AND the 1st 50 will also have preferred seating for the Saturday evening show.
One of the big pluses at this past Magicpalooza convention was allowing anyone into the Dealers room. That’s right…even if you are not registered for the FCCC we invite you into the Dealers Room anytime you want, throughout the weekend, to visit the Dealers and see what’s new on the magic scene…our thanks to our vendors.
Click the button above and you’ll be taken to the page where you can register online (very fast). Or you can download and print the registration form. You’ll also see the address where you can mail in your check or money order.
Thanks and we’ll see you in May!
